CAULIFLOWER

Also known as ‘Turnip Rooted Celery’. Grown for the large, swollen base of the stem. Used in salads, lightly cooked, or in soups and stews. SEDANO DI VERONA Early variety with a medium sized swollen bulb to 2kg. Brown outer skin with a white centre. Sweet, white inner flesh is eaten raw or cooked. Fine flavour. Harvest bulbs when around 10cm. Good bolt resistance and stores well. |

Close relative of the capsicum, warm season crop, grown for the mild to hot and spicy fruit. Position: full sun. Plant: 30cm apart or in pots, after frost. Soil: well drained, moderately fertile. Maturity: 8-12 weeks. Harvest: as required at the green, yellow or red stage. Flavour and heat often change as they develop. ANCHO Popular and productive variety. Dark green, turning red-brown, heart-shaped fruit to 10cm. Distinctive and rich flavour with only LOW HEAT (4/10). HOT PAPER LANTERN Especially suited to cooler areas. Elongated, wrinkled, lantern-shaped fruit, ripening from green to red. One of the hottest available. EXTREMELY HOT (10/10). MANZANO Tall bush variety from high altitude areas of the Andes.
